Sharing Knowledge, Inspiring Change

At the Massage & Myotherapy Australia Conference in Geelong on the 30th and 31st of May, I had the privilege of presenting on Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) to an enthusiastic audience of massage therapists, myotherapists, and other healthcare professionals from across Australia.

The sessions explored CRPS through a contemporary neuroimmune lens, translating the latest evidence into practical clinical strategies that therapists could immediately apply in practice. We discussed modern pain science, neuroplasticity, rehabilitation principles, and introduced NIMMY and the RECOSYSTEM framework as simple ways of understanding why CRPS develops and how recovery can be supported through a whole-person approach.

The conference was a tremendous success, with an outstanding program and an incredible willingness from attendees to learn, ask questions, and challenge traditional thinking. It was encouraging to see so many clinicians embracing contemporary approaches to persistent pain and CRPS, with the sessions generating thoughtful discussion and overwhelmingly positive feedback.

One of the highlights was connecting with passionate practitioners who share a genuine commitment to lifelong learning and improving outcomes for people living with complex pain conditions. Events like these reinforce the importance of continuing to share knowledge, collaborate across professions, and translate emerging research into everyday clinical practice.

A sincere thank you to Massage & Myotherapy Australia for the opportunity to contribute to such a fantastic event, and to everyone who attended the presentations, shared their experiences, and made the discussions so engaging.

Together, by continuing to learn, collaborate, and challenge old ideas, we can help create better outcomes for people living with CRPS and other complex conditions.
