Our Team
Our Approach
We bring different experiences, skills, and perspectives to the table, but we're united by a common purpose: helping people create meaningful change.
At Adaptiv Health, we believe recovery, health, and performance are built through understanding, education, movement, and connection. We combine contemporary science with practical rehabilitation to help people build confidence, capacity, and resilience.
Our goal isn't simply to treat symptoms, it's to empower people with the knowledge and tools to adapt, grow, and move forward.
Grant McKechnie MAppSc, AEP, AES
Pain Science Educator | Accredited Exercise Physiologist | Accredited Exercise Scientist | Myotherapist
Grant McKechnie has been working in rehabilitation, exercise physiology, and musculoskeletal healthcare since 2000. He began his career at The University of Ballarat’s (now Federation University Australia) UniSports Exercise Rehabilitation Centre, where he combined clinical practice with ongoing academic study, completing a Master of Applied Science (Research) and further qualifications in soft tissue therapies, including Myotherapy.
Alongside clinical practice, Grant developed a strong passion for education. He lectured in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, with a particular focus on Rehabilitation Anatomy within the Master's program. He also designed and delivered complete training programs in Remedial Massage and Myotherapy for universities and private colleges, helping educate the next generation of rehabilitation professionals.
In 2005, Grant founded the epREHAB / Ballarat Sports & Exercise Rehabilitation Centre, a multidisciplinary clinic integrating Exercise Physiology and Myotherapy services. Over the following decades he developed extensive experience in the assessment, rehabilitation, and performance management of musculoskeletal, neurological, metabolic, cardiovascular, and persistent pain conditions.
Today, Grant's work centres on helping people with complex presentations, particularly those who have not responded to traditional treatment approaches. His clinical interests include persistent pain, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), hypermobility spectrum disorders, neurological rehabilitation, and complex musculoskeletal conditions.
His treatment philosophy combines contemporary pain science, exercise rehabilitation, neuroplasticity, and emerging neuroimmune concepts. Rather than focusing solely on damaged tissues, Grant works with individuals to understand how the nervous, immune, endocrine, and musculoskeletal systems interact to influence pain, movement, recovery, and resilience. This whole-person approach aims to empower people with knowledge, confidence, and practical strategies for long-term change.
Grant has undertaken extensive professional development in pain sciences and was awarded a Pain Revolution Scholarship through the University of South Australia in 2020. Following this, he joined Pain Revolution as Learning and Development Project Officer, a role he held until December 2025. During this time, he helped develop educational programs for health professionals and communities across Australia, with a focus on improving pain literacy and access to contemporary pain education.
A passionate educator and speaker, Grant has presented at national and international conferences across rehabilitation, pain science, exercise physiology, and myotherapy. Recent presentations include:
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) at the Massage & Myotherapy Australia Conference
Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) and CIDP rehabilitation at the GBS/CIDP Conference
Neuroplasticity and rehabilitation at various professional development events
Exercise, sarcopenia, and pain science education for Primary Health Networks and medical practitioners
Grant currently serves on the Board of the Purple Bucket Foundation, supporting advocacy and education for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, and is a member of the Exercise Physiology Advisory Board for IPTC, contributing to the advancement of rehabilitation and return-to-work practices.
Throughout his career, Grant has worked with individuals from all walks of life; from people living with persistent pain and neurological conditions through to elite and professional athletes. His sporting experience includes working with Olympic and Commonwealth Games representatives, professional mixed martial arts athletes, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors, motocross riders, cyclists, triathletes, marathon runners, rowers, tennis players, race walkers, and AFL footballers. He has also worked as a rehabilitation therapist with the North Ballarat Roosters VFL program and as an injury consultant within elite Australian Rules Football.
Grant's current focus is helping bridge the gap between emerging science and real-world clinical practice. He is particularly passionate about creating scientifically backed hope, helping people make sense of complex symptoms, and guiding them toward meaningful improvements in function, confidence, and quality of life.

"Recovery is rarely about fixing one thing. It is about understanding how multiple systems adapt, interact, and change over time. When people understand their condition, regain confidence in movement, and learn how to work with their body's adaptive capacity, meaningful recovery becomes possible."
Jarrod Collins MA AEP AES
Accredited Exercise Physiologist | Accredited Exercise Scientist
Jarrod Collins is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with a passion for helping people navigate complex health challenges through evidence-based exercise and education. A lifelong learner, Jarrod is committed to continually developing his knowledge and skills across a broad range of rehabilitation areas, with particular interests in concussion management, neurological rehabilitation, persistent pain, cardiovascular health, and metabolic conditions.
Through postgraduate training and clinical practice, Jarrod has developed experience working with individuals managing musculoskeletal injuries, neurological presentations, persistent pain, cardiovascular disease, and chronic metabolic conditions. He has a particular interest in understanding how the body's systems interact during recovery and how exercise can be used as a powerful tool to improve health, function, and quality of life.
Jarrod's approach is centred on combining contemporary science with practical, achievable rehabilitation strategies. He values taking the time to help people understand their condition, build confidence in movement, and develop sustainable habits that support long-term health and wellbeing.
Working within multidisciplinary environments has reinforced the importance of collaboration, communication, and person-centred care. Jarrod strives to create a supportive environment where individuals feel empowered to actively participate in their recovery journey and achieve meaningful outcomes.
